What a pleasure it was to “see” all of you today at the Soar to Success Summit with Vanessa and Pre-K Pages! I love sharing my passion for igniting confidence in young children when it comes to writing! Handouts that were mentioned in this session are able to be downloaded above. Thank you for your patience.
Remember as you are completing your handouts that the scaffolds for young writers to fill in are:
- Verbal Path for the Formation of Letters
- ABC Linking Chart
- Name Chart
- BOO-BOO Tape (Avery Labels)
- Magnadoodle (easier to use than a dry erase board in my opinion)
The developmental stages for writing are from our Texas PreK Guidelines.
If you are interested in reading more about the TEXAS PreKindergarten Guidelines and compare them to those in your state, you can find them here: https://tea.texas.gov/sites/default/files/PKG_Final_2015_navigation.pdf
Thank you for a chance to learn with you! I hope you will take some time to look around on the blog and see if there is anything else that can help you in your important work with young children!
Cheers!
